Equal Humans

In watching the documentary about Ruth Bader Ginsburg, she was badass! She fought for us. If it were not for her, where would we be? I wanted to honor her with an original poem.

Equal Humans

We, as women, began in an
uneven playing field to men,
Ruth was our warrior,
challenger for our rights.
Equal Humans

Her soft-spoken voice, not a physical fighter but
equipped readily with her skilled weapons of knowledge.
She fought and won many battles!
Equal Humans

Don't let her small stature fool you. She was a powerhouse of strength. She was our superhero!
Ruth laid the grown work for us to emerge from
the shadows of the past.
Equal Humans

Ruth Bader Ginsburg forever remembered with
respect and admiration. You led the way and laid the foundation for us.
God Bless and Rest in Heaven!

A Living Resume

Imagine wearing a multitude of hats in a history of jobs. That is what I call a living resume; a diverse background worked many positions. You would think that many will seek you out and hire you, but with approaching the age of 62, a question arises, am I marketable?

I love my job at the courthouse. The primaries just passed, we have a new clerk, and he plans on reassessing and reinventing the clerks’ office.

I invested eight years of my life; I love what I do, and to be perfectly honest, I don’t have the desire to start over someplace else, but if I had to, I would.

The following are my past employment: HR Business Analyst ( current ); HR Administrative Assistant; HR Administrative Aide; Special Projects Administrative Aide; Special Projects Administrator ( demoted from this position due to budget cuts); Elder Affairs Cares Assessor ( it was not a good fit); Pharmaceutical Recruiter; Treatment Coordinator; Targeted Case Manager; General Manager. And adding to that lineup is my educational history: I have a Bachelor’s in Business Administration, a minor in Human Resources, and an Associates in Community Mental Health, and there you have it.

There is no solution for this situation except being realistic, be proactive and look for work by dusting off my resume, and prepare myself. I will keep you all posted.

Thank you!

My Bucket List

For those that are thinking of creating a bucket list, don’t put it off. It may surprise you what goes on the ongoing plan. Avoid a due date because it is a continuous list.

I have been contemplating creating one for years, and today I decided to put it out there for everyone to see, and in hopes that I will get excellent feedback.

To give you a backdrop on this writer, me, of course. I am a creature of habit. I don’t particularly appreciate going outside of my comfort zone. And worst of all, I suffer from a horrible case of stage fright, but I have a deep desire within my heart. I may complete my list or may not, who knows! Trying is better than not trying at all. Wouldn’t you agree?

Here goes my bucket list:

1. A girls’ trip with my daughter and my granddaughter. Nowhere unique, but it must be memorable and remembered with love.

2. Traveling abroad: I have traveled to many places like London, Mexico, the Cayman Islands, and Cuba. It is just a fraction of what I would like to accomplish, like visiting Spain, Australia, Ireland, and Canada, to name a few.

3. Singing in front of an audience: So, here is the optimum test. I sing online, and I done Karaoke in front of family and friends, but I want to sing in front of an audience, one song, one night. Don’t worry. I don’t have delusions of grandeur of becoming famous. Remembering back to my community college days, I was approached by a fellow student, she was in my voice class. A local band was looking for a singer and she suggested I do a demo, but I bailed due to fear. I guess this desire is stemming from that memory—the “what if” syndrome.

4. I love to do more blogging I love it, but need guidance on how to improve traffic to my page.

5. Hot Air Ballooning: It is a little intimidating, going high up and all, but I imagine it will be exciting!

There you have it! These are only the highlighted desires on my bucket list. I welcome your thoughts. Thank you!
